Keighley Estates at one time was the King's Cotton Plantation. Like everything else around the coast, cotton and tobacco production have mostly given way to easy-living communities and homes. Around 2005, this land was developed into one of the finest communities outside of Myrtle Beach.
The original homes in Keighley were just what the name implies - large brick estate homes on over a half acre of landscaped yard. Many have private pools and beautiful entertainment areas outside. Most were custom-built, so you'll find one and two-story homes that are all unique. Most have formal dining rooms, front porches, screened back porches or Florida rooms, garages, and lots of land for boats, storage buildings, and fenced in yards.
Inside, most of the homes have been updated and well-maintained, boasting hardwood flooring, custom kitchens with stainless steel appliances, vaulted or trey ceilings, brick fireplaces, and walk-in closets. You'll find 3 and 4 bedroom homes, with prices from about $200,000 to $300,000.
Beverly Homebuilders expanded and started some new homes in Keighley in 2016 and 2017. These homes are large, with large lots, and have vinyl siding - some with brick trim. They are 3-4 bedroom homes that feature open floorplans with large bedrooms, a mix of hardwoods, ceramic tile, and carpeting, formal dining rooms, and walk-in showers. Homes also feature an over-sized garage and 50-year roof warranty. New homes in Keighley are around $215,000.
Children attend Aynor Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. Keighley is outside the city limits so taxes are low, and the HOA is less than $10 per month. You'll be hard-pressed to find a deal like this outside of Aynor.
