Chicora is a quiet and established community, located just off Main Street and Oak Street in downtown Conway. The development began in the 70's, and now C & R Builders are adding new homes with large lots, three and four bedrooms, and all the upgrades.
The original homes tended to be ranch-style, built in the 70's and 80's, with large grassy yards and mature trees. Many have carports and screened porches. Many have been completely renovated and include decks, fenced yards, and flower gardens. Prices on the original homes run around $150,000.
New homes had 4-5 floorplans but are down to the last few "to be built" homes now, and are also priced at around $150,000. They are 3 bedroom, 2 bath homes with around 1500 square foot of space. Standard features are wood cabinets, granite countertops, vinyl and carpet flooring, and trey ceilings, with a garage. This is a good bargain for a brand new home with these upgrades.
Children attend Homewood Elementary School, Whittemore Park Middle School, and Conway High School. Chicora is only 3 minutes from historic downtown Conway, the Riverwalk, golfing, shopping, schools and the beautiful ocean in Myrtle Beach. If fishing is your thing, the Waccamaw River is nearby for freshwater fishing water and Murrells Inlet is only a 20-minute drive for deep sea fishing and boating.
If you are looking for a great bargain home, whether older or brand new, we urge you to check out the Chicora community of homes. Call us for a tour and to work for your interests with the builder.
