West Ridge is a quiet community near the Burning Ridge Golf Course, Conway Hospital, and Coastal Carolina University. It is located off Hwy 501 and Burning Ridge Rd. The oldest homes here were built around 2007, and several builders have added homes since then, especially in 2011 and 2012. The difference in builders has created a diverse look to the community, with some homes having large 1/4 acre lots, and some with smaller landscaped yards.
There are homes having three to even six bedrooms, some in Low Country style with front porches and others in brick-trimmed ranch style. All include a two-car garage, and you'll find patios, screened back porches, vinyl siding, and brick exteriors. Inside upgrades often include vaulted ceilings, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and other extras that were popular at the time the home was built. A private lake offers water views for some homes.
HOA fees of around $100 include a community pool, clubhouse, and trash removal. This is outside any city limits, so taxes are low, and children attend the coveted schools of Carolina Forest Elementary, Ocean Bay Middle School, and Carolina Forest High School. Prices of the homes range from around $180,000 to over $250,000
West Ridge is 10 minutes from Myrtle Beach, and 5 minutes to downtown Conway. It's close to shopping, restaurants all the malls on Highway 17 at the beach.
